Betty Nail
Marengo- Betty Kathryn Nail was born November 29, 1929 in Ladora, Iowa the daughter of John and Clara (Zimmerman) Hunzelman. She graduated from Ladora High School in 1947. On January 31, 1948 Betty was united in marriage to Harold Ray Nail in Ladora. Betty was a bookkeeper for Nail Trucking and Kaiser Ag Chemicals until retiring in 1984. Betty was a life long member of the Ladora United Methodist Church. Betty was honored by the Red Cross for being long time blood donor. She enjoyed bowling, camping at the Iowa State Fair for 45 years and was a Iowa Hawkeye fan even longer. She loved gardening, lending a helping hand to friends and most of all spending time with her family. Betty died on Thursday, May 25, 2017 with her family by her side at Rose Haven Nursing Home, Marengo, at the age of 87 years.
Betty is survived by two daughters: Lee Ann (Leo) Haack of Williamsburg and Sandra (Terry) Kruse of Lone Tree; eight grandchildren and several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She was precede in death by her parents; husband in 2009; son Larry in 2006; brother Lester Hunzelman and a sister Verna Joyce Hunzelman.
Celebration Of Life Service will be 11:00 AM Saturday, May 27, 2017 at the Powell Funeral Home, Williamsburg. Burial will be in the Ohio Cemetery, south of Ladora. Visitation will be Saturday from 10:00 am until service time at the Powell Funeral Home in Williamsburg. A general memorial has been established.
