Obituary for
Larry Frederick Mullnix
Williamsburg-Larry Mullnix was born September 10, 1938 near Williamsburg, Iowa, the son of Harold and Lora (Pundt) Mullnix. He graduated from Williamsburg High School. Larry was united in marriage to Marjorie A. Gibson on October 28, 1972 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church near Williamsburg. He has lived in the Williamsburg community all of his life. Larry was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church. He worked for the Amana Feed Mill in Homestead for 20 years, he then drove bus for the Williamsburg Community School District for many years. Larry enjoyed spending time with his family, watching baseball and basketball games and going to McDonalds to visit with friends. Larry passed away Thursday, March 30, 2017 at his home at the age of 78 years.
He is survived by his wife Marjorie; two sons: Douglas (Tina) Mullnix of Williamsburg and Brian (Karen) Mullnix of Conroy; five grandchildren: Hope & Shane Mullnix, Shelby & Jackson Mullnix and Tyler Long; his mother-in-law: Gertrude Gibson of Williamsburg. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Gerald Mullnix and father-in-law: Roy (Hoot) Gibson.
Celebration of Life Service will be 10:30 am Monday, April 3, 2017 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church near Williamsburg. Pastor Richard Meyer will officiate. Burial will be at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 4:00 to 6:00 pm at Powell Funeral Home in Williamsburg. A general memorial has been established.
