Life Story for
Tamara Kelley-Purvis
TAMARA KELLEY-PURVIS
Tamara Rae Kelley-Purvis, 53, of North English passed away on Tuesday, November 22, 2016 surrounded by family after a long battle with cancer.
Tamara was born in Sigourney, Iowa and was the daughter of Robert and Carolyn (Goodman) Kelley. Tamara grew up in the North English area, and spent her entire life there. Tamara graduated High School in 1982.
She was a jack of all trades and there was not one job to difficult that she couldn’t do. Tamara was proud of everything she accomplished. There was nothing she wouldn’t try to do. She was a very simple lady and never wanted any extra attention.
She was the beloved wife of John Purvis. Tamara and John Purvis were joined in marriage on June 1, 2001 in Oregon.
You would often find them making their weekly runs to “the city”, watching movies in their home, or fishing in their favorite fishing spot.
For those of you who knew her, she loved the color purple and had a very extensive collection of unicorns. Tamara loved animals just as much as she loved her family. You would often find her outside working in the yard, spending time with her animals, or playing on her computer.
Tamara enjoyed many hobbies throughout her life, including fishing, collecting unicorns, koi ponds, crocheting, knitting, quilting, gardening, working in her flower beds, and extensively decorating for each and every holiday.
She was very proud of her family. From all of her children’s accomplishments, to the many organizations her family participated in.
Tamara is survived by her parents Robert and Carolyn Kelley (North English); brother, Scott Kelley (Victor) ; three children, Kelley James (KJ) Bearbower (North English), Kyle (Ryan) Garringer (Webster), Kimberlee Garringer (Ottumwa); grandchildren; Machayla, Payton, and Brody, many nephews, and close cousins.
She was preceded in death by her infant son Robert (Robbie) David Kelley.
Celebration of life gathering will be at the North English Community Center on Sunday November 27th, 2016 from 1 to 4 p.m. In lieu of flowers a general memorial is being established for medical and final expenses for the family.
